Brant Ansley, PA-C
Brant Ansley, PA-C, earned his Master's of Physician Assistant Studies Degree from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. Brant is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas. Brant provides first assistant in the operating room, as well as follow-up care in the clinical and hospital environment. In addition, he communicates with patients and their families regarding discharge instructions, education and physical therapy. What is a Physician Assistant (PA) and what does he/she do? Physician assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine under physician supervision. PAs provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, as well as diagnose and treat illness, order and interpret tests, offer education on preventive health issues, conduct physical exams, assist physicians during surgery and write prescriptions. During their education, PAs are taught, as are medical students, to diagnose and treat medical problems through therapeutic and/or surgical procedures. After graduating from college, PAs continue their education for two or more years in classroom and laboratory instruction in basic sciences, such as anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, physical diagnosis and clinical medicine. This is followed by clinical rotations in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine and geriatric medicine. Following graduation, PAs take a national certification examination by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants in conjunction with the National Board of Medical Examiners. To obtain state licensure, PAs must graduate from an accredited physician assistant program and pass the certifying examination. |
